Millennium Park

Our family loves going to the beach, but normally the girls just like the sand and not the water. We decided to go to Millennium Park instead of Grand Haven. We didn't even get the blanket down and Grace was in the water. She was diving, doing flips and going under! I don't know why she was so brave, but she had a great time. They also loved the splash pad! Here are a few pictures from that fun day!

Coloring Skills

Grace wanted to stay up late tonight and so I let her color a picture for her cousin, Carter. Can you even tell it is Mickey anymore?!

Sack Race

I was putting on clean sheets on the bed and Grace decided it would be fun to climb in the pillowcase and hop around. She has never seen a sack race before, but she will be great at in if they still do them in elementary school.

Me do, me do!

Grace wants to do everything by herself these days. She decided she would put on her bathing suit herself. Not only was it inside out, it was backwards. She couldn't figure out why the suit kept riding up in the back! She was really proud of herself because it took many tries before she put both feet in separate holes.

Cool Tricks...Cool Tricks

Grace will occasionally watch a program on Nickelodeon called Yo Gabba Gabba. They always show a different "cool trick". One morning at breakfast, Grace remembered that a kid balanced a spoon on his nose and said "wook Mom, tool twick!" (Translated: Look mom, cool trick!)

That Tickles!

While Grace was swinging, Ava sat and played with the beach toys. She would keep putting her face in the grass and then come up laughing so hard. Ava learned that grass tickles. Here are some of the pictures from it.

Ava's Music

Ava found the windchimes and thought they were so fun!

The New Swing!

Grandma and Grandpa got the girls two swings for their backyard. Grace would stay on the swing for hours if you let her. Here are some pictures from their first ride on the swings.

Grace trying out the "butt swing" for the first time. She was so nervous, but loved it!

Busy Summer!

Sorry for the lack of posts lately, life has been busy. Here are some pictures of the girls getting in the car to go to Grandma and Grandpa’s house. Grace has been really cheesy for the camera lately. I can’t complain, there was a time when we couldn’t get her to smile for the life of us.

Ava wasn't too happy. She is teething again and this time it is HORRIBLE!! both her top and bottom teeth are coming in

Another dinner at the beach

We have loved heading to Grand Haven to grill dinner and hang out. We decided to go again this past Friday.
Here is Nick going to put his foot in the water, he stepped on a hot coal!
Miss Ava
Grace loves to try and catch birds!

More Photography

I forgot to post these ones. Grace and I took a picture of each other taking pictures. Pathetic, I know.

Gracie's Photography

Look how cute, she even smiles!
Nick was even impressed with this one. Normally the flash makes any fish tank pictures blurry.

Grace's eye view of sissy!

Grace has been into taking pictures with her "tamera", which is our old camera. Most of the time, she just get the floor and ceiling, but she has been really trying to aim lately. I just downloaded some beach pictures and found these ones...not too bad for a 2 1/2 year old!

Gracie's Boo Boo

Grace thought it was a good idea to run in the bathroom when the floor was wet, she quickly regretted that decision. It was like slow motion as I saw her slip face first into the toilet. It took quite some time for us to figure out where the bleeding was coming from. After the bleeding was done and she got some ice for her lip, she was as good as new. We told her she had monkey lips and that made her giggle each time. The next day I told her she still had monkey lips and she replied "no mommy, Grace lips!"

The swelling happened almost immediately. She kind of looks like she has a cleft palatte. She liked to put the ice pack in her mouth rather than keep it on her lips.

Poor girl. Her gums were split open too, but you can't see that in the picture. Luckily, no teeth were pushed in or loose.
She thought she had to smile for this picture too!
