The thought of dragging all of the stuff to the beach and coming home all sandy didn’t sound fun to Nick and me, so we decided to head out for dinner at the beach. We packed up the kids, kabobs and the sand toys. Yeah, I know I said being all sandy didn’t sound fun, but they weren’t getting wet, so the sand just brushed right off of them. We got to the beach, literally took ten steps and was at the charcoal grill. The girls played in the sand until we were ready to eat and they both sat so nice at the picnic table. After dinner we went to the playground for a bit then got back in the car to head to the main Grand Haven State Park. We walked the pier for the first time with the girls and got ice cream. It was so neat to see Grace make so many connections about things. She loved the boats, the campers, the fishermen and the crazy people jumping off of the pier. Ava simply likes people watching and the popsicle she had. What a fun way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon. The whole way home, Grace kept asking “where did the beach go mom?”

Grace wanted to bury her feet in the sand.
You can see Ava saying "oooo" in this picture. She was impressed with the kites that were flying.
Thanks for all the cute pictures you posted today!!! I bet Grand Haven was so much fun!!! Miss all you guys!!!
