Just Another Manic Monday

There is always so much to do, but today I feel like I got a lot accomplished. Work, cleaning, laundry, Hobby Lobby, car wash, cake decorating, family walk and of course taking the time to play with Grace and Ava! I can't believe how much has to get done for a 1-year olds birthday party. I had a meeting in Big Rapids today, so the girls got to go to my nephew Carter’s house for a few hours. They loved it…new scenery and new toys to play with.

Tonight I was able to work on the practice cakes for Ava’s party. Here are the pictures of the two sample cakes. I have learned a lot and know what I am going to do differently for her party on Sunday. I am going to do two round cakes – one vanilla and one chocolate. Both will have cookies and cream filling with buttercream icing. The colors of her party are brown and pink, so obviously the colors of the cakes will be different. The cupcake shaped cake is the one that Ava will get to smash.
