Understanding Electricity

We have had some thunderstorms the past few days and Grace is always curious about them. After each “boom” as she calls them, she asks “what’s that?” and then starts to giggle. Well, Thursday night our power went out about 3:30 in the morning. It woke everyone up except for Ava who didn’t move an inch. Grace thought it was so fun to use flashlights and candles to get around the house, until she realized that electricity is more than just the lights! She continued to ask for Mickey and I explained that many things were run by electricity like; the tv, the refrigerator and fans and that meant no Mickey. She started balling her eyes out because she just didn’t get why Mickey couldn’t turn on. It is so neat to see the light bulb go off in her head; she picks up so much each day.
